Carry-on Baggage

Size of carry-on baggage

  • The sum of the three sides must be 115cm or smaller. The maximum lengths of each side allowed are 55cm(A), 40cm(B) and 20cm(C).
  • The same criteria are applied to all routes and ticket classes.

Weight and quantity of carry-on baggage: Weight: Up to 7kg, Quantity allowed: 1

  • In addition to the carry-on baggage, passengers may carry one extra personal item.
  • The size and weight of personal items: The sum of three sides must be 115cm or less(55cm for height, 40cm for width and 20cm for length) and the total weight of the carry-on baggage and personal item must not exceed 7kg.
    EX) one piece of baggage(suitcase or backpack) + one additional personal item such as briefcase, duty free items, laptop, small bag etc.
  • Extra fees will be charged if the baggage and items exceed the free allowance limit.

Carry-on Baggage Allowance

  • Weight: Up to 7kg
  • Size: Total dimensions within 115cm (55cm x 40cm x 20cm)
  • Quantity: 1 piece + 1 personal item

Personal Item

  • Examples: Briefcase, laptop bag, or handbag
  • Size: Must fit under the seat in front (40cm x 30cm x 15cm)

Notice

  • If your carry-on or personal item exceeds the allowance, it will be checked at the boarding gate and an additional baggage fee will apply.

Important Notes

  • Carry-on baggage must be kept under the passenger’s responsibility and must fit safely in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front.
  • All items are included in the carry-on baggage allowance. However, essential items for infants, children, elderly passengers, or those requiring assistance may be brought onboard additionally.
  • For safety reasons, each carry-on item must not exceed 15kg. Items over this limit will be checked as baggage and a handling fee will apply.
  • Examples:
    • Cane, crutch, or assistive devices for passengers with reduced mobility
    • Personal wheelchair
    • Baby food and child safety seat
    • Strollers meeting carry-on size standards (total dimensions within 115cm)
      (Even if the item meets carry-on requirements, it may be checked at the gate due to limited cabin space or operational reasons.)
  • Large musical instruments (e.g., cello, gayageum, geomungo, guitar, etc.) exceeding 115cm in total dimensions must have a separate seat purchased for in-cabin transport.
  • Cabin baggage rules may vary depending on the aircraft type or airport regulations of the operating country.
  • Even compliant baggage may be subject to gate check if overhead storage is full.

Items prohibited from being brought inside the cabin

  • Firearms that release bullets, including guns and handguns.
  • Devices used to paralyze another person, such as an electronic shocking device or pepper/acid sprays
  • All types of knives or swords, or items that have sharp tips or edges such as scissors.
  • Items that may be used as weapons, such as baseball bats, bowling balls or dumbbells.
  • Chemical substances, toxic substances, explosives or inflammable substances

Please do not bring these prohibited items on board as you may be subject to a prison sentence of two to five years or a fine of 20 million to 50 million won under Article 44 of the [Flight Security Act].
